'I never thought I could' - Slimming World woman of the year from Lancashire loses six stone
A Blackpool woman has transformed her life through determination and self-belief, losing almost six stone and becoming Slimming World Woman of the Year.
Sue Mitchell, a Blackpool resident has experienced a life-changing transformation that goes far beyond the scales.
Just two years ago, she walked into her local Slimming World group carrying not only extra weight but years of self-doubt and the belief that she would fail yet again.

Setting herself a modest goal, she never imagined the journey ahead.
What followed was a story of resilience and self-discovery. Attending group sessions each week became a turning point for Sue. Hearing others’ experiences helped her realise she wasn’t alone and gradually she began to see her own potential.
Over 18 months, she not only reached every target she set but exceeded them, shedding almost six stone in the process.
Her dedication and commitment earned her the title of Woman of the Year within her Slimming World group, a moment that allowed Sue to see herself through the eyes of others: capable and inspiring.

Her newfound confidence opened doors to experiences she had once thought out of reach from paddle boarding and Morris dancing to Parkruns and embracing everyday adventures.
Now, Sue is giving back to her community by supporting others on their weight-loss journeys as a Slimming World Consultant.
She runs her group at Cherry Tree Community Centre every Wednesday at 5.30pm offering the same encouragement and belief that once transformed her own life.
