Sadness as closure date announced for Lancashire's Original Factory Shop
The Original Factory Shop in Garstang will cease trading this month.
The well-known retail chain went into administration in January after owners Modella Capital said “last-ditch” measures to rescue the high street favourites had fallen through.

Last year, the brand – which has outlets at Lancaster Leisure Park and in Garstang – underwent restructuring amid fears over its future, with investment firm Modella Capital stepping in to save it.

But in January this year, Modella said it had made the “tough decision” to kickstart insolvency proceedings for the business.
A spokesman for The Original Factory Shop Garstang said on Facebook: “Sadly today we have been given the details on a closure day.
“Sunday March 29 will be our last day.
“There are still lots of bargains in store and please remember that we do not set the prices and can not do deals to make things cheaper.
“We are likely to be very busy on the tills and will go as quick as we can but please be patient with us and remember we are all losing our jobs when we close so please be kind.”

A spokesman for The Original Factory Shop in Lancaster also posted the following on Facebook: “Ladies and gentlemen we have sad news that the Lancaster store will be closing it doors for good on March 22.
“But until then we are still here for your needs so call in store to show your support.
“New deals and savings are being added – don’t miss out whilst stock and time permits.”
Founded in 1969, The Original Factory Shop is a discount retailer selling a wide range of branded and own-sourced products, including clothing, homewares, beauty items, toys, and seasonal goods.
