Runners put best their best feet forward in the Blackpool Marathon
However, the wet conditions didn’t dampen the spirits of more than 2,200 runners determined to complete the 26-mile course or a an alternative half-marathon or 10K course.
The race on Sunday took runners along the Blackpool seafront along the Golden Mile to St Annes and Lytham.
The starting line was in Blackpool.

Hide AdFrom there runners headed south to Lytham where they turned and ran back towards Cleveleys before turning south again.
The event is popular with both competitive club runners and keep fit enthusiasts keen to raise money for charity.
And despite the wet weather, most ran with a smile on their face.
Plenty came equipped with waterproof gear but the majority braced the rain and winds determined to finish the race in the best time possible.
