Rossall School hosts toxic masculinity workshop with White Ribbon and Lancashire Police

The session aimed to tackle toxic masculinity.

Rossall School hosted a workshop aimed at tackling violence against women earlier this week, with major organisations including the police and councils in attendance.

The event was organised by Wyre Borough Council in partnership with White Ribbon, the UK’s leading charity against male violence towards women and girls.

A number of different organisations, including schools, agencies, emergency services and other council partners attended the workshop.

A spokesperson from Lancashire Police, who attended the event, told the Gazette: “Rossall School kindly played host to a White Ribbon workshop which was delivered to key partners, agencies and schools from across Wyre, funded by Wyre Council

“It was great to see so many representatives from across our area, to discuss important topics and recognise the importance of positive intervention. Through education, prevention and partnership working, we are committed to challenging abuse and improving safety across our communities.

“The session focused on positive masculinity, empowering delegates to challenge misogynistic attitudes and behaviours. By promoting healthy and respectful relationships we hope to continue our work in the prevention of violence against women and girls, working with all those affected by domestic abuse and taking a partnership approach to ensure positive changes are made.”
