Organiser Nigel Moran said: “The Winter Gardens is a great location and we are really looking forward to the weekend.

“We will have more than 100 consoles for people to play on, a huge arcade section with such retro games as Donkey Kong, Pacman and Star Wars, people can play Hyper Sentinel, the Kickstarter-funded, retro-on-steroids arcade shoot ‘em up.

“Guests can chat with the developers and on the Saturday we will have Bob Wakelin a well known professional artist and illustrator who is known for his cover artwork used by Ocean and Imagine games. There will also be the latest virtual reality games as well as a brilliant board games section from Esdevium Games and a load of pin ball machines.

“We are aiming for a family, fun vibe and there will be people dressed up – cosplay – which should look great.

“We will also have an area dedicated to young children (or fans for that matter) to come and join in on Minecraft.

“It will allow, children, teens and adults to indulge themselves in building some beautiful structures or just letting their imaginations run wild. GAME in Blackpool will be having a Minecraft competition where you have a time limit to build, the winner gets a prize and a whole load of stalls.”

The event runs from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
