Owners reveal why Spen Dyke pub will have new name when it reopens
“Every day of the week we’ll have nice food, cheap drinks. This is going to be the place to go, and we're going to see you all soon.”
New bosses at the former Spen Dyke pub have explained why the premises has undergone a name change ahead of its revival and reopening later this year.
The Spen Dyke closed permanently in September 2023 after rising running costs forced the owners to move on.
The pub was bought earlier this year by Pritchard Pubs, a local company that also runs Tommy Cutler's Bar and the New Philly Family Bar on Foxhall Road in Blackpool.

Pritchard Pubs have now given the reasons behind the pub’s name change from the Spen Dyke to The New Burlington.
A spokesperson for Pritchard Pubs said: “For us personally, there's no real connection with the name. So, we've gone with The New Burlington because that's where it's located, on Burlington Road.
“In the 1980s, it used to be bouncing in here every night. So, we're going to bring that vibe back and we're going to get this place bouncing again.
