Musicians and bands invited to make the most of new Lytham music venue - for free
“I have had so many people contacting me saying Lytham needs a venue like this”
A new live music venue is being launched in Lytham, encouraging bands to to along, plug into the equipment and play.
The Attic is upstairs at the town’s Ex-Servicemen’s Club in Chapel Street and Paul Rigby, a committee member there who is one of the mean behind the project, feels it will bring something new to Lytham and hopefully help encourage and help nurture local performers.

“I have had so many people contacting me saying Lytham needs a venue like this,” said Paul.
“I don’t think there are many places, if any, in Lytham which have have full equipment ready so musicians and bands can just come in without lugging any heavy equipment, plug in and play.
“We can switch on and have them up and running within 15 minutes.
“We hope to have all sorts of events here - ticketed, for charity, with performers of all ages, who are welcome to book it and use the equipment which is ready and waiting - and free to use.”
The venue has the full support of the Live Like Ralph charity, based in Lytham, which was set up in memory of 26-year-old Ralph Roberts, who died of a rare respiratory illness in 2021.
The charity encourages young people to get out and about and get active, including young bands, and Ralph’s dad Neil, who runs the charity, said The Attic will be a very welcome addition to Lytham.
“I think it’s a fantastic venue,” said Neil. “Music is a huge part of Live Like Ralph as we encourage young bands and this is ideal.

“There are other venues in town that have live music on but this offers musicians the freedom to use it when they want and all for free.
“It really is welcome and well done to Paul and everyone involved for making it available.”
Paul added: “We want everybody to get involved - schools, charities, bands of any age, but especially perhaps the young ones looking for a place to play.
