“Our thoughts are very much with his family at this distressing time.”
A man has tragically died in Preesall Park this morning after being found unresponsive by members of the public.
Lancashire Police were called called to the scene by the North-West Ambulance Service at 7.54am today following reports that a man had been found unresponsive in the car park of the Preesall Sports Centre on Sandy Lane in Preesall.
Despite the best efforts of members of the public who administered first aid and colleagues from the North-West Ambulance Service, the man - aged in his 70s - was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious, that a file will be prepared in due course for HM Coroner, and said that their thoughts are very much with his family at this distressing time.
The update from Lancashire Police follows widespread local reports of a major emergency response earlier this morning, with locals reporting seeing a number of ambulances and police cars at the scene and driving through Hambleton on the way to the incident.
Witnesses also confirmed that they saw CPR being administered in an attempt to save the man.
