Lytham charity shop has best dressed window as Fylde celebrates the AIG Women's Open golf
“The standard this year was exceptional, and picking a winner was no easy task”
A creative and detailed display at a Lytham charity shop has been crowned the winner of a window display competition held by Fylde Council to celebrate the AIG Women’s Open coming to Royal Lytham and St Annes.
Businesses across St Annes, Ansdell and Lytham spent the past fortnight transforming their shopfronts into golf-themed showstoppers, ensure the area’s main shopping streets are looking better as the world’s top female golfers take part in the prestigious tournament.

Fylde mayor Cllr Richard Redcliffe visited participating businesses to judge the competition, taking in everything from coastal-inspired creations to displays celebrating women in sport and Fylde’s proud history of hosting championship golf.
The mayor was accompanied by the mayoress Mrs Sheila Redcliffe and judged that the display at Snailwell’s of Lytham - the diabetes awareness charity shop in Clifton Street - stood out for its intricate and detailed design.
He felt it spoke to more than just golf – that it captures the spirit of the women’s game, giving the piece a far greater resonance and deservedly earning the top prize of four tickets to the AIG Women’s Open for their staff.
Cllr Redcliffe said: “It was a real pleasure to see so much creativity on display across St Annes, Ansdell and Lytham. The standard this year was exceptional, and picking a winner was no easy task.
