Lancashire Fire and Rescue's hero search dog retires after incredible life-saving career

Davey has served the county for nine years as a search and rescue dog.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service has announced the retirement of one of its finest rescue dogs following nine years of outstanding service.

Davey, a specialist Fire Search Dog, joined the service in 2017 after being adopted from the Dogs Trust. After completing training with the force Davey became one of the county’s best Urban Search and Rescue search dogs, thanks to his trainer Lindsay Sielski.

Davey supported both national and international search and rescue teams during his career, famously being deployed to support rescue operations in Turkey, Morocco and Venezuela following devastating earthquakes.
