The long-running events once again proved a highlight of the local calendar with families enjoying parades, entertainment and community celebrations in the warm weather.
Local Labour MP for Lancaster and Wyre, Cat Smith visited both festivals over the weekend and praised the volunteers whose hard work helped bring the events together.
Speaking after the celebrations, MP Cat Smith said it had been “lovely to be out and about around the Wyre parts of the constituency” during the bank holiday festivities.

She also thanked the many organisers and volunteers who dedicate their time each year to ensuring the festivals continue to thrive.
She said: “I want to say thank you to all the people who volunteered to make these things happen. It’s been nice to chat to everyone in this gorgeous weather we’ve been having.”
Both festivals have long histories within their communities and continue to attract generations of local families each year.
From traditional processions to community performances and activities for children, the events are seen as an important celebration of local pride and togetherness.
Garstang Children's Festival was held at Whitsuntide over the last bank holiday in May on the 25th.
With crowds enjoying the sunny conditions throughout the weekend, organisers hailed another successful year for two of Wyre’s best-loved community festivals.
