Iconic Lytham Windmill is being lit up in pink all week for Organ Donation Week

Everything you need to know...

Lytham Windmill is being lit up in pink this week as part of a campaign highlighting the importance of organ donation.

The iconic landmark will glow pink from Monday 21 September to Sunday 27 September to support Organ Donation Week.

The annual awareness week aims to highlight the difference organ donation can make to people waiting for a transplant, as well as encouraging conversations about organ donation and people’s wishes.

The pink illumination at the windmill is also being used to remember the more than 400 people who died last year while waiting for an organ transplant.

The display will remain in place throughout the week, providing a prominent reminder of the lives affected by the shortage of available organs and the potential impact of donation.

It takes just 2 minutes for someone to confirm their decision on the NHS Organ Donor Register. Register to donate today: https://ow.ly/q3yq50ZG0on
