Lancashire County Council’s Volunteer Befriending Service, formerly known as the sitting service or volunteer service, is inviting volunteers of past, present and future to get together at events across the county in November. County Councillor Tony Martin said: “We also welcome anyone who is interested in volunteering to come along and find out more. The events will be very informal, just turn up, enjoy biscuits and brews, and help us to celebrate.”

There will be a session at Preston’s Harris Library from 11am to 3pm on Nov. 25. For further information please call 01257 516035, email [email protected] or visit www.lancashire.gov.uk/volunteer
