'We're all heartbroken' - Fleetwood pays tribute to 'one in a billion' town council clerk Shirleyanne Munro
“She will be sorely missed by all.”
Tributes have been paid to Fleetwood Town Council Clerk Shirleyanne Monro, who died last week.
“It is with great sadness we wish to inform you that our wonderful Town Clerk, Shirleyanne Munro, sadly passed away last week,” read a statement from Fleetwood Town Council. “We are all completely heartbroken. The office will be closed to the public for the foreseeable out of respect.
“Our priority is Shirleyanne's husband, who is also a Town Council employee, and the rest of the small team at this devastating time. Shirleyanne was an incredible woman with a wonderful heart, and we truly are going to miss her so much. She was one in a billion and we feel honoured to have known her. She was loved very much by everyone who knew her.

“Our thoughts are with her husband and the rest of her family and friends at this time. In the light of recent events over the past few weeks please may we ask for you to be patient and understanding while we begin to navigate through this process as we are not sure how the next few weeks and months look at the moment.
“Can we also ask that you please respect the privacy of Shirleyanne's family and friends at this time. We are sending love to them all. Thank you.”
Lorraine Beavers, MP for Blackpool North and Fleetwood, also released a statement reading: “Incredibly sad news about the Clerk of Fleetwood Town Council, Shirleyanne. She served the community with all her heart. Constantly supporting local groups and standing up for the town of Fleetwood. She will be sorely missed by all.”
