Fire rips through signage near Blackpool's Bonny Street Market

Shocking images have been released of a fire which ignited near Blackpool's Bonny Street Market yesterday evening (April 12).

One fire engine and officers on horseback responded to the incident in Central Car Park shortly after 8.50pm.

Images from the scene show the fire ripped through a section of signage near Bonny Street Market.

Firefighters used one hose reel to tackle the flames - which were burning dangerously close to a parked car in the vicinity.

Police said the fire started in a nearby rubbish bin.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service has been approached to see if they are treating the incident as suspicious.

Crews were at the scene for twenty five minutes, the fire service said.
