Here's why you've heard fighter jets roaring across Fylde coast sky this week and how long they'll be here for
Fighter jets have been soaring across the Lancashire skies in recent days - here’s why they are set to continue.
Fighter jets are set to continue soaring over the Fylde coast, with newly released military plans revealing further training exercises in the skies.
Four German Typhoons were spotted conducting training manoeuvres yesterday evening, with some Fylde coast locals reporting shaking walls and falling pictures as the jets zoomed above at supersonic speeds.
Claire Lark, a Fylde coast resident, says she and her family heard the jet last night: “We heard it, it was so loud, the kind of noise you can physically feel. The whole family went outside and looked up to see, it sounded like it was flying quite low."

The heightened jet activity comes as part of a wider military training exercise called Strike Warrior 26-2 which is taking place from September 21 to October 10.
Military aircraft from the UK, USA, France, Norway and Germany will all be carrying out a series of training exercises across the UK skies, potentially from low level altitudes all the way up to 66,000ft.
Multiple different types of aircraft, including fighter jets like the Typhoon and F-15, will be used over the coming days.
