Dedicated site set up for ticket sales as ice rink returns to Lytham for first time in a decade

“The uplift in footfall the rink will bring for the town will provide a significant lifeline for challenged local businesses”

Tickets are now on sale for sessions on Lytham’s Christmas Ice Rink.

A dedicated website for sales, Lythamonice.com, went live at lunchtime and the Lytham Business Partnership, which has organised the return of a rink to town for the first time in a decade, is promising “real ice skating, festive food and drinks and plenty of Christmas magic”.

The rink will be in Clifton Square and tickets are to be sold for the period running from November 28 to January, although it is hoped the rink will be in place from the previous weekend.

Tickets for the hour-long sessions are £11.25 for adults and £9 for four-to-13 year olds, with family tickets available.

A link has been issued for online advance sales via the dedicated site, but walk-ups will still be possible once the rink is up and running.

Ticket sales had initially been promoted as starting today but at lunchtime, the Lytham On Ice dedicated still said they were ‘coming soon’.

The rink is expected to operate between 11am to 9pm at weekend and noon to 9pm during the week. Family tickets will be available and wheelchairs will be allowed on the ice.

Suzanne Taylor, who chairs the Lytham Business Partnership, said: “We are very excited about the launch. The ice rink will be a great visitor draw to Lytham for local families as well as for people from farther afield.

“The uplift in footfall the rink will bring for the town will provide a significant lifeline for challenged local businesses.”

The aim is to start work on setting up the rink the day after the town’s Christmas lights switch-on, which is on November 14.
