Customers shocked as Ducks Nuts tapas bar in St Annes town centre suddenly closes its doors
“We have put our hearts into the Ducks Nuts, we loved it and the relaxing atmosphere that was created”
A popular town centre bar and restaurant has suddenly closed its doors - with a sale of all the contents inside held within days.
Customers of the Ducks Nuts tapas bar in Park Road, St Annes, were shocked to see a social media message from owner Alan Openhaw and his partner Klara announcing the closure.

Alan’s message said: “It is heartbreaking to let you all know that Klara and I have decided to call it quits and close the Ducks Nuts Bar effective immediately.
“We would like to thank all the wonderful friends and customers, and especially all our fantastic four legged friends that we have had over the last four years.
“We have enjoyed so many happy times. And we have put our hearts into the Ducks Nuts, we loved it and the relaxing atmosphere that was created.
“It has been a very hard decision to make, but it's going to be the best thing for Klara and myself. “
Alan went on to say that he would be selling everything off over the weekend following the announcement earlier this month.

He added: “Thank you for everyone's support, love and kindness hopefully we will see you all again soon. “
Alan, with more than 30 years’ experience as a chef in four and five-star hotels, opened up the Ducks Nut in what was previously the No 10 Ale House premises, in the summer of 2022.
He said at the time: “I spent years making money for other people, and thought it was finally about time I made something for myself.
“It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do.
"For 30 years I've wanted to do something like this, but as a chef you don’t really have the time, money or opportunities very often. I finally had a chance and I grabbed it.”
