Two men released on bail after 19-year-old stabbed in Blackpool

Two men who were arrested after a 19-year-old was stabbed in Bloomfield Road have been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Police were called to reports a man had been found with a stab wound in Bloomfield Road at around 10.45pm on Sunday, February 28.

Emergency services attended the scene and a 19-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment.

Two men were arrested a short time later on Central Drive in connection with the incident.

They were a 25-year-old man from Blackpool on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon and grievous bodily harm and a 28-year-old man, of no fixed address, on suspicion of assault (GBH).

Today (March 2), officers confirmed both men have been bailed pending further enquiries.

"We are in the early stages of our investigation and are asking anyone who saw what happened or knows any information about it to call 101 quoting incident reference 1685 of February 28," a spokesman for Lancashire Police said.
