Officers said extra patrols will be in the area and they will "robustly" deal with any reports of anti-social behaviour and breaches of Covid lockdown rules.

They have also warned parents they risk being fined £200 for not ensuring their children are at home.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "In response to increased youth ASB and criminality in the area defined by the map below, Insp Leadbetter has authorised a dispersal order for 48 hours.

"If you are suspected of causing or going to cause ASB in this area you will be directed to leave or taken home."

One worried resident said: "They've been about for hours, right outside my house - they smashed my living room and bedroom windows last June and it's the same group of kids once again.

"They caused criminal damage to my home and terrified my girlfriend who was scared to leave the house after what they had done."
