A 19-year-old Blackpool man has been charged with more than a dozen child sex offences, including sexually grooming a 13-year-old girl.

Shane Mackay, of Knowle Avenue, North Shore, made his first appearance at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court today (Friday, March 10).

He faces a total of thirteen child sex allegations relating to the making and distribution of child pornography photos, two offences of attempting to engage in sex with a child, the grooming charge and engaging in sexual behaviour with the girl and making her watch sexual activity.

There was no bail application.

Blackpool Magistrates remanded him in custody and sent his cases to be dealt with at Preston Crown Court where he will appear on Friday, April 7.
