Blackpool man accused of murder appears before Crown Court

A man accused of murdering a woman in Blackpool has been given a provisional trial date.

Donald Sidney Payne, 62, of Dinmore Avenue, Blackpool, appeared before Preston Crown Court for a preliminary hearing.

It is alleged he murdered 49-year -old Simone Ambler on April 29 at an address on Dinmore Avenue.

She had suffered stab wounds.

The Honorary Recorder of Preston, Judge Robert Altham adjourned the case for a plea and trial preparation hearing to take place on June 1.

A provisional trial date of November 22 was also arranged.
