Prosecutor, Pam Smith, said a taxi driver had just picked up his first passengers and was driving along Blackpool’s Park Road when he heard a man shouting abuse behind his cab on August 28 about 7am.

Gorman cycled alongside the taxi and after kicking out at the passenger door lost his balance and fell off his bike in front of a dustbin wagon which drove round him.

He then climbed onto the cab bonnet, twisted off a wiper, tried to get in the taxi and then chased it on his bike.
