A Carleton Green Primary School pupil has beaten 400 competitors to be crowned TenPin's Big Pin Design Challenge winner.

The creative competition was launched to celebrate the opening of Tenpin Blackpool and, after receiving more than 400 entries from Year five and six pupils across the town, Theo Minns from Carleton Green Primary School was selected by local street artist Christian Fenn, aka Seca One, for his standout bowling pin design.

As part of the prize, Theo's entry is being transformed into a full-size bowling pin and displayed at Tenpin.

Theo’s class also received an exclusive two-hour workshop with Christian Fenn aka Seca One which took place on Wednesday.

It offered the children an introduction to street art, live demonstrations of spray painting techniques, and hands-on experience in creating large-scale art.

Speaking after the workshop, Christian Fenn aka Seca One said: “Everyone had an awesome day, and what made it truly worth it was seeing the kids' reactions and how much they enjoyed it.

“It was a great experience, made even better by the nice weather.

“All of the work produced was amazing - the kids did a great job, and I was surprised by how quickly they took to it.”

Laura Barlow, Regional Manager at Tenpin Blackpool added: “The Big Pin Design Challenge has been a great way to engage with local schools and build excitement around Tenpin Blackpool.

“We’re delighted to showcase the artwork at our site and celebrate the fantastic talent we have in town.”
