'We offer an escape where fun doesn't stop' - Blackpool’s Coral Island offering over 500 arcade machines
“We offer an escape where the fun doesn't have to stop when the weather turns.”
As autumn weather arrives, Coral Island is preparing for a busy season as it continues to offer an indoor entertainment destination on Blackpool’s famous seafront.
The venue attracts around 4 million visitors every year and features more than 500 arcade machines, ranging from classic grabbers to high-tech virtual reality games. It also has five family restaurants where kids eat free.
Coral Island has held its place on Blackpool’s promenade for 48 years, providing an indoor option as the weather becomes less predictable.

Fireworks, illuminations and Captain Jack
The venue is also preparing for increased crowds as visitors head to Blackpool for the World Firework Championships from 12 September, while the town’s iconic illuminations are already lit up. Young visitors can meet Captain Jack during special appearances at Coral Island every Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.
The venue estimates that 105 million tickets are won every year across its arcade games. Arcade gameplay has also been brought up to date, with visitors able to top up and play using playcards alongside traditional coins, allowing them to move between games more quickly and easily.

Entertainment for adults and families
Coral Island is not solely aimed at children, with the venue also featuring a full casino, interactive darts and three licensed bars.
Jeff MacNamara, Managing Director at Coral Island, said: “Blackpool is famous for its lively atmosphere, but after a chilly walk on the prom, Coral Island is a warm, bustling indoor haven where everyone can spend hours making memories together.
“From family favourites like the Camel Derby and Pirate Flyer and our 'kids eat free' dining, to our excellent selection for adults, we offer an escape where the fun doesn't have to stop when the weather turns.”
