'I've always thought'... Blackpool has its say on Nigel Farage amid questions over Reform leader's finances
We asked readers what they made of recent accusations against Mr Farage.
Recent allegations involving Reform UK leader Nigel Farage have divided opinion among Blackpool Gazette readers, with many saying the claims have not changed their views of the politician either positively or negatively.
The Gazette asked readers on social media: "Have recent accusations against Nigel Farage changed your opinion of him – for better or for worse?"
The question followed renewed scrutiny over Mr Farage's political funding after it emerged he received an undisclosed £5 million donation in 2024 from a cryptocurrency billionaire, prompting criticism from political opponents and fresh debate over transparency in party finances.

Among those who said their support for Mr Farage had strengthened, Ian McDonald wrote: "No, the hounding of him by those that fear him has made my support of him grow."
John Rigby commented: "Accusations no substance so the answer is no."
John Woodman said: "for better, its quite clearly a concentrated attack, he's come out all guns blazing, so good on him. There wasnt this hype when Starmer didnt log his 'free' gifts from Lord Ali was there, nope, just a 'I made a mistake' and all was forgiven."
Others insisted the allegations would not affect how they vote.
Mark Oldfield said: "I'll still vote for him."
Al Green wrote: "No, he's no different to the rest of them but at least he'll fight for Britain."
Allan Gribble commented: "Reform all the way, Nigel for PM. Burnham only interested in himself."
Dave-Mo Wood added: "I'll still vote for him. Tories and Labour both ineffective in office."

Some readers offered broader observations rather than directly answering the question.
David Freeman commented: "He’s a smart cookie & knows how to manipulate & court publicity."
Robert Mottershead wrote: "To some if Nigel said it was safe to eat Glass, they would be eating glass."
Graham Burvill said: "Crikey. Saying you like Farage more after this is like seeing a restaurant get a one-star hygiene rating and thinking, 'Finally, some character.' Swear some people see red flags and think it’s bunting."
Meanwhile, Wayne Joseph questioned whether social media accurately reflects public opinion, writing: "You're asking that question on social media, where it's been discovered that 70-80% of Reform supporting posts are from bot accounts, and expecting an accurate answer?"
