I went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s new Scare Maze event and was impressed by the spooky theming and impressive variety on show.
I headed to the opening night of Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s Journey to Hell scare maze event on Saturday not knowing what to expect.
For the first time ever, the Pleasure Beach allowed day guests to stay and attend the mazes at night for no extra cost, and a number of the park’s biggest attractions- like Aviktas and Icon- stayed open during the event, which took place from 6pm until 9pm.

Journey to Hell features three newly designed scare mazes. In ‘Eternal Abyss’, brave entrants will navigate their way through the lost temple of ‘Angkor Wat’, located inside Pleasure Beach’s 100 year old network of tunnels that were once used to travel between rides.
‘The Veil’ explores the eerie remnants of a house steeped in grief, hiding a macabre truth. Guests will find a chilling presence still lingers within and face a traumatising realm that connects the living to the dead.
‘Deadline’ allows guests to experience the company with a permanent solution to every complaint, where no one ever clocks out. Etch through its nightmarish corridors and discover the psychological horror that festers inside.

Alongside the three mazes, ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ and ‘The Ghost Train: Vault of Shadows’ offer Halloween twists on the park’s classic rides, and guests can also ride Icon whilst blindfolded.
Over 100 actors are featured across Journey to Hell, along with a troupe of dancers who provide entertainment throughout the evening.
Journey to Hell will run on select dates between October 17-31. More details on the event and tickets can be found here.
