Blackpool Night Run to raise vital funds for Brian House Children’s Hospice - everything you need to know
What you need to know...
Runners are being invited to take part in a unique 7.5k event through Blackpool, with the Blackpool Night Run offering participants the chance to experience the town’s world-famous Illuminations while raising money for a vital local charity.
The Blackpool Night Run will take place beneath the famous lights and is completely free to enter. Participants will be able to preview the Blackpool Illuminations ahead of the official switch-on as they take on the route.
The event will also feature a road closure starting outside Blackpool Tower, allowing runners to experience the route without traffic, while chip-timed results will be provided for participants. Every runner will also receive a bespoke finishers medal.

Although there is no entry fee, participants are being asked to support Brian House Children’s Hospice by raising a minimum of £30 in sponsorship or making a one-off donation. Organisers say every pound raised will help Brian House continue providing care and support to local children and families when they need it most.
When is it taking place?
This year's Blackpool Night Run is taking place on Wednesday 2nd September 2026. Night Run starts and finishes on the Tower Festival Headland, with the official start taking place at at 8.30pm.
However, participants are encouraged to arrive from 7.30pm to enjoy the live entertainment and warm up. All entertainment and the Info Point will be situated on the Comedy Carpet. The Info Point will be open from 6.30pm should you have any queries about your entry or need to collect your t-shirt.
Supporting children and families across the Fylde coast
Brian House is the only children’s hospice on the Fylde coast and provides care for babies, children and young people living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. The hospice provides support to children and their families, with donations and sponsorship playing an important role in helping to cover the cost of its services.
Money raised through fundraising helps ensure Brian House’s services can continue to operate year after year, while also providing opportunities to develop and expand those services. Organisers are hoping the Blackpool Night Run can make a significant contribution to that work.

If every runner taking part raises or donates the minimum £30, the event could raise an estimated £120,000 for Brian House. That money would help the hospice not only continue delivering its existing services, but also develop new ones, allowing it to support even more families across the Fylde coast.
The event therefore offers runners the opportunity to take part in a memorable night-time run beneath Blackpool’s Illuminations while making a direct contribution to a local children’s hospice.
With free entry, a closed-road route, chip timing and a commemorative medal included, participants are being encouraged to take part and help raise as much as possible for Brian House.
