'They've lost their mummy' - Blackpool mother-of-two dies at just 35 as heartbroken family pay tribute

“There are simply no words to describe the heartbreak and devastation we are experiencing.”

The heartbroken family of a Blackpool mum who has tragically died at 35, leaving behind two very young children, have made an emotional plea for help to give her the dignified send off she deserves.

Kelly Marie Glasgow is turning to the community through a GoFundMe appeal to help cover the unexpected cost of her sister Georgina Glasgow’s funeral.

Describing Georgina, a DWP worker, as her as a ‘beautiful sister’, she said the family were simply hoping to give her the send-off she deserved at a time when they are already struggling to come to terms with their loss.

Through the GoFundMe page she spoke of how funeral costs are something no family are prepared for and how they would be incredibly grateful for any help people could offer. They are hoping to raise £800 and the generous community of Blackpool is digging deep to help her.

She said: “There are simply no words to describe the heartbreak and devastation we are experiencing. Georgina was taken from us far too soon, leaving behind her two beautiful babies, just 3 and 1 years old. They have lost their mummy, and our family is now trying to navigate the unimaginable while making sure her children are safe, loved and cared for.

“For now, I have her babies in my care, they are doing well and my biggest priority is making sure they have everything they need and feel surrounded by as much love and security as possible during this horrific time. Alongside the heartbreak, there is the constant worry of how we can give Georgina the beautiful and dignified send-off she deserves.

“Funeral costs are something no family is prepared for, especially when a death is so sudden and unexpected. As a family, we would be incredibly grateful for any help towards Georgina’s funeral costs and her babies.”

On a social media page, Kelly said she hoped to organise raffles and tombolas too and is appealing for donations from local shops, bars, restaurants, salons, businesses or individuals — whether that’s vouchers, meals, gifts, hampers, experiences or anything suitable as a prize. Any money raised beyond the funeral costs will go towards supporting her children.

“No amount is too small, and every donation will make a difference. If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser would mean more to us than you could ever know. We never imagined we would have to say goodbye to Georgina at just 35.

“Our hearts are broken and we are doing everything we can to honour her memory and give her the farewell she deserves.”

Georgina’s family, mum Denise Cork, dad John Glasgow, brother John Glasgow and Kelly have organised her funeral for September 24 at Carleton Crematorium at 3.30pm.
