Blackpool’s biggest night of the year is here as the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On returns TONIGHT.

Thousands of visitors gathering on the Promenade for a star-studded evening of live entertainment before BBC Radio 2 presenter Paddy McGuinness officially switches on the 2026 Blackpool Illuminations shortly after 9pm.

Hosted by Graham Liver and Sharon Hartley from BBC Radio Lancashire, this year's Switch-On concert will feature performances from singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan, acclaimed rock band The Feeling and a headline set from iconic British pop group Five.

A total of 20,000 tickets were allocated through a public ballot, with the event once again proving one of the most sought-after dates in Blackpool's calendar.

While many seaside resorts wind down at the end of summer, Blackpool bursts into light with six miles of spectacular displays, innovative light installations, projections and interactive features.

For 148 years, the Illuminations have transformed the resort each autumn, attracting millions of visitors from across the UK and around the world.
