Blackpool Football Club welcomes Harry Ramsden’s as newest business partner

A match made in heaven.

Blackpool FC has welcomed Harry Ramsden’s as its latest Business Partner, with the club describing the fish and chip brand as a “well known name” in the town.

The club announced the partnership, highlighting Harry Ramsden’s long-standing connection with Blackpool’s visitor experience. The restaurant brand has a 200-seat restaurant in The Blackpool Tower, the town’s most iconic landmark, making the partnership with Blackpool FC very fitting indeed.

Harry Ramsden’s history dates back to 1928, when founder Harry Ramsden opened a small wooden hut in Guiseley, West Yorkshire. With a focus on fish and chips, the business quickly developed a reputation for golden batter, hand-cut chips and a welcoming atmosphere.

Over the years, Harry Ramsden’s developed from a restaurant into a familiar part of British culture, with families travelling from across the country to visit its restaurants, in particular those in charming coastal locations such as Blackpool.

The brand also became associated with entertainment for younger visitors, including appearances from much-loved characters such as Blackpool-born Sooty and Sweep.

Today, nearly a century after its beginnings, Harry Ramsden’s continues to focus on its original offering of fish and chips, using quality ingredients and maintaining what it describes as a sense of occasion. The company says its restaurants have remained part of seaside days out, family gatherings and generations of shared memories.

The new partnership brings together two recognisable names associated with Blackpool, with Harry Ramsden’s having been part of the town’s visitor experience for many years and Blackpool FC representing the area on a national stage.
