The exhibition brings together portraits and candid moments of some of British television's most familiar soap stars, photographed over three decades for national newspapers, magazines and entertainment publications.

For Nelson, the evening marked another milestone in a remarkable photographic career spanning 46 years. His career began at just 16 years old, photographing live concerts at Blackpool's Winter Gardens for the Evening Gazette.

Since those early days, his work has taken him around the world, photographing international music stars, major entertainment awards and some of the biggest names in British television.

The Manchester preview offered an opportunity to look back through decades of television history, with photographs capturing both familiar faces and memorable moments away from the television cameras.
