Ambitious plans to turn Poulton farmyard barn into gym on Fylde coast are revealed
Ambitious plans to convert a farmyard barn into a new gym and fitness centre on the Fylde coast have been revealed.
T Robson and Sons, owners of Fairfield Farm in Singleton, near Poulton, have unveiled their ambitious plans to turn one of their barns into a new gym and fitness centre.
The barn in question- which is built from corrugated metal sheeting on a concrete base- has a floor area of 453 square metres and is still in use for agricultural purposes.
No additional buildings would be required to house the gym, and an existing part of the farm’s yard would be sectioned off for 21 car parking spaces, a motorcycle bay and bicycle storage.

The proposed gym would continue to use the existing farm access from Fairfield Road (B5266) and the private farm track serving Fairfield Farm, on which three vehicle passing points are identified.
According to the planning statement: “existing access can safely accommodate the modest level of traffic the gym will generate, with adequate visibility, parking and servicing, and no severe impact on the highway network. Noise, contamination and flood risk impacts are also acceptable.”
The plans will now be decided upon by Wyre Borough Council.
