I am a Mancunian-Ukrainian journalist, based in Tameside. I joined Manchester World as a digital reporter in summer 2022, shortly after completing my NCTJ at News Associates, Manchester. I started out my career as a translator, having studied for my undergraduate degree in Russian at the University of Birmingham, followed by a masters in translation at the University of Sheffield. After graduating, I moved to Kyiv where I worked for the independent Ukrainian news channel Hromadske for two years, before moving on to become the social media editor of the newspaper Kyiv Post. Before the war broke in February 2022, I was part of the team that founded the Kyiv Independent, now the largest English-language news outlet in Ukraine. Outside of work, I volunteer with the Ukrainian Youth Association and am very active in the British Ukrainian community. I also love cinema and try and can usually be found at HOME on my days off.
