One of the North West’s biggest folk bands is heading to Poulton as part of a UK tour.
Merry Hell, who have headlined festivals throughout Britain and Europe, bring their anthemic sound to Poulton Community Centre on Wednesday (April 15), with more than 200 people expected to flock to the all-seater gig.

The band, who hail from Wigan, are an eight-piece and play a unique brand of uplifting folk-rock, with a message of hope in troubled times.

Over the last decade they have released six albums, played hundreds of gigs, and have had songs reach the top 10 of not just the Official UK Folk Chart but the US charts too.
Organiser Steve Canavan says it is set to be a cracking night.
“Merry Hell are one of those bands that you instantly fall in love with and live they are particularly good,” he said.
“Their songwriting is second to none and among the rousing anthems are some beautiful ballads. You leave one of their gigs with a little bit of hope restored in humanity.”
Recently crowned Best Live Band by popular website Folking.com, Merry Hell released new album Rising of the Bold to critical acclaim last year and, after taking some time off at the start of 2026, are kicking off a new year of touring with this gig in Poulton.
Tickets are £16 and available from www.trybooking.com or by emailing [email protected]
