Indie rockers The 1975 are set to take Blackpool Tower by storm alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

The Cheshire-based band, whose singles include The Girls and Somebody Else will be headlining a special one-off show as part of BBC Radio One’s Live Lounge Month.

They will be closing the series of special liver performances with a unique Live Lough Symphony which will be broadcast from the stunning Tower Ballroom.

The show is scheduled for Friday September 30.

Ticket details are yet to be revealed.

Other performers in Radio One’s Live Lounge Month include Justin Bieber, who will perform from his Los Angeles home on September 1.

Usher will be next up, also from California, before the likes of Bastille, Craig David and Sigala, Clean Bandit and Blossoms step up to perform acoustic versions of one of their own songs and a cover of their choice.
