Former Nasa astronaut Buzz Aldrin touches down for Lancashire book signing

Organised by Kirkham’s own Elaine Silverwood, the event will see the pilot of Apollo 11, the first manned spaceflight to land on the moon, talk about being one of the first two people to walk on its surface.
And Elaine, who owns Book, Bean and Ice Cream book store in Kirkham said: “It will be an incredible privilege to meet one of the biggest legends of modern history.

“The response for tickets has been incredible.
So many people are really excited about seeing him because it’s such a unique opportunity.
“He’ll be doing a talk about his life and then taking part in a question and answer session.
Then there will be a book signing at the end of it.”

With every ticket, spectators will receive a hardback copy of the former astronaut’s new book, A Man Who Walked On The Moon.
