"He was a real hero of mine and a huge influence on the way I perform. The greatest compliment I have ever been paid is when he once said to me; “me and you Steve, we’ve got Funny Bones” Imagine your childhood hero saying that to you! I am nowhere near as naturally funny as he was but at least I’ve been blessed with being able to call him my friend.

"I also remember my first meeting with him as a student travelling to London by train. He was stood at the buffet car entertaining the passengers for the entire journey. I was so star struck I never found my seat and instead stood watching in awe of the comedic genius as he spoke to everyone and dished out condiments from the bar! Legend!

"Love To Yvonne, Rob, Daz and all the family, thoughts are with you."
