The extended Illuminations run for 2020 comes on the back of the coronavirus pandemic, which hit traders badly at the start of the season, when lockdown was first introduced.
Friday (September 4) saw the popular Switch-On go virtual for the first time - you can relive the action here - so here's a look at how the 2020 Illuminations looked when that switch was flicked.
1. Thank you
This year's Blackpool Illuminations say "thank you" to the key workers on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic
2. Heroes
Almost 50 "corona heroes" will have their faces lit up along the Golden Mile this year.
3. Looking good
Plenty of people were out on the first night of the Illuminations to get a look at this year's Lights.
4. Popular
The Blackpool Illuminations attract more than 3m visitors to the resort each year.
5. 'Extraordinary'
Illuminations creative curator Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen said: "The 2020 Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On will go down in history simply because it has captured all of the emotion of such an extraordinary year.”
6. Rainbows
This year’s Illuminations, which are being presented under a theme of Bring On The Light, celebrate the unstinting work of the NHS, key workers and others, with the Golden Mile featuring a display of hearts and rainbows.
