“The main thing about the fun day is spreading awareness.”

A Lytham dad living with terminal cancer has hosted a fundraising day to raise awareness of the disease and support research into new treatments.

Mark Kingsley, from Lytham, has been living with stage four prostate cancer for more than five years, but says he is fitter than ever and is preparing to take on a major challenge alongside Olympic champion cyclist Chris Hoy.

The 57-year-old hosted the fun day at Performance Padel Preston on Sunday (August 30), bringing together family and friends for a day of sport and entertainment while raising awareness of prostate cancer.

The event featured padel tournaments, live music and a BBQ, while children were entertained with crazy golf and a bouncy castle.

Free padel coaching sessions were also held for children during the event.

Despite his diagnosis, Mark has continued to maintain an active lifestyle and is now preparing for his upcoming challenge with Chris Hoy.

These were the scenes as Mark and friends took to the court to help raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
