Garstang St Thomas emerged overall champions with 586 points, beating their neighbours Garstang Community (522) into second place. Poulton St John’s were third with 508.

The highest-place Fylde school who will join Garstang St Thomas in the county finals was Newton Bluecoat, who pipped AKS by two points.

The heats and finals were supported by coaches Derek Newton and Sam Rodgers from Blackpool Wyre & Fylde Athletic Club, who spotted some amazing talent.

The finals were also supported by young leaders from Millfield High School and Cardinal Allen High School, who did a fantastic job.

School games organiser Lee Cadwallader said: “As ever it was a great special event for all involved and all the children had a great experience.”
