St George's celebrate more rounders glory

The year 10 rounders team at St George's School in Blackpool are celebrating an outstanding achievement.

Victory over visitors Montgomery this week meant the team from the Cherry Tree Road school had completed four seasons unbeaten, starting at year 7, and have won the Blackpool Schools League on all four occasions.

Not that they had it all their own way on Monday against Montgomery, who put up a great fight but lost 17.5-17.

In this season’s previous matches St George’s had beaten St Mary’s 25-12, Aspire 19.5-7 and Unity 18-12.5.

PE teacher Ms Leech congratulated all the players and thanked the parents for their support.

In the game against Montgomery, Ieasha Ward was the St George’s player of the match.

In matches between the schools at Montgomery, St George’s were again winners in the year 7 game and the hosts won at year 8.
