There’s a possible recall for Chris Johnson, who could be named on the replacements’ bench.

The fly-half has been out of action since needing urgent dental surgery after being hit in the mouth playing for Fylde against Henley Hawks last month.

Johnson is likely to be involved with Lancashire in the upcoming County Championship campaign, which begins with a Roses clash against Yorkshire tomorrow week.

Fylde players are again expected to make up the bulk of the Red Rose squad.

Jordan Dorrington has been pencilled in for a place at full-back for the Loughborough match but needs a fitness test after suffering a muscle injury in the win over Wharfedale on Saturday.

Fylde player-coach Paul Arnold said: “Chris wants to play on Saturday, though he has not trained for the last month or so.

“We will have to make sure he is ready to go before we pick him to play. He wants to be involved with Lancasahire when the season ends.”

“We have picked what I consider to be an exciting back-line for the Loughborough game and we will be looking to go out on a bit of a high.

“We will be playing on a 3G pitch, so that should be conducive to playing running rugby.”

Young hooker Ben Gregory is named on the replacements’ bench, the latest Kirkham Grammar School player to be introduced to the first team squad by Fylde.

The 18-year-old Gregory has been part of the Kirkham GS squad that has gone unbeaten for the past two seasons and has got early promotion at Fylde given a shortage of hookers at the club.

Phil Mills has left, while Alex Loney is injured and Tom Burtonwood has left to play in the United States.

Gregory is a member of the Sale Sharks’ under-18 academy.

Tom Jeffers comes in on the wing tomorrow, with Anthony Bingham unavailable.
