Fylde win in style

Fylde crossed for five tries in this fine bonus point victory.

In the first half Armstrong scored twice and laid one on for skipper Chris Briers.

Jack Turley also scored a try before the break, with Greg Smith landing four conversions.

Ionians' reply came via two tries, both unconverted, by Alistair Thomson and Gregory Lound.

Fylde ended the half with 14 men as back row forward Matt Lamprey was yellow-carded.

It had not been easy for Fylde - the penalty count against them in the opening 40 minutes was 9-1.

Ionians hit back at the start of the second half with a penalty-try, goaled by Isaac Green.

Smith added a penalty for Fylde and the home side clinched it on 77 minutes when Armstrong crossed for a try, completing his hat-trick in the process.
