Ever have one of those days when everything seems to go wrong? I see it all the time with my clients – a lot of things happen daily that we can’t control the outcome of.

However, there are a lot of things we can control. We can control our consistency with our food and our training.

We can also control the choices we make day to day. Every morning we are faced with choices. Some things we have to do, like go to work or school; others we choose to do, like eat well or go to the gym.

These are completely in our control. If you are unhappy with your fitness, then change it – but only you have that power.

I always tell clients not to worry about what they can’t control and focus solely on what they can.

For example, planning their food for the week means they know what to buy and what they will eat each day.

This prevents them being caught without a plan and reaching for the nearest takeaway menu.

It helps to plan your week in advance for meals and training. Plan your food and design a weekly menu. Plan your training and design a weekly schedule for exercise.

These are things you can control but you need to make a choice to control them.
