So many times we get lost in where we want to be that we forget how important it is to enjoy the process of getting there.

Achieving a certain goal is hard work and it requires a certain amount of dedication.

However, you also need to learn to like what you are doing.

Anyone can stick to something for four to eight weeks with a little bit of self-discipline but what happens after that?

Well, usually if you haven’t enjoyed what you have been doing you are very unlikely to stick to it.

Instead it is worth designing a lifestyle that fits around you...

One where you can eat out if you choose,

One where you can drink that glass of wine,

One where if the kids want ice cream, you can have some too,

Building a lifestyle is so important in making your fitness goals sustainable for the rest of your life.

Look to build something that easily becomes part of your life and something that you can continue.

Try to learn as much as possible on your journey – what works for you, what doesn’t, what you enjoy doing and what you don’t enjoy doing.

As soon as you find what you enjoy and what works, the sooner you will get the results you want and even get better ones.

The destination is important but wouldn’t you rather enjoy getting there?

Our lives are stressful enough, especially at the moment, so why add another stress?
