Vassell hits hat-trick as Blackpool beat Peterhead
Having defeated Dundee United in midweek, Pool recovered from a 2-1 half-time deficit to defeat Scottish League One side Peterhead 4-3 at their St Andrew’s training base on Friday night.
Vassell had spoken before kick-off about his need to impress new boss Gary Bowyer and he went about it the right way with his first goals for the Seasiders.

Hide AdPool took the lead after four minutes when Bright Osayi-Samuel’s cross was deflected in for an own goal.
But even though Pool keeper Kyle Letheren saved a penalty he had himself conceded, his team were behind at half-time as the club known as The Blue Toon hit them with two goals in quick succession.
Vassell then took over, equalising from Will Aimson’s pass before doubling his tally from a Brad Potts cross.
The lead lasted barely five minutes before Peterhead scored from a free-kick but Vassell had the last word.
The former Peterborough frontman was again set up by Potts as he netted the late winner for Pool, who return to the Fylde coast this weekend.
