The Mechanics started well, when nine minutes into the game they were awarded a penalty due to a handball in the box. Ben Duffield stepped up to take it and found the back of the net, firing into his trusted bottom right corner.
This was cancelled out six minutes later however, when Mason Nevitt was played in behind, knocking it past Dan Hall.

It looked as if the sides were going to be level at the break until Nevitt caused problems once more, forcing Kyle Higham into a foul in the area, giving the hosts a penalty.
Nevitt stepped up to take it and made it 2-1, sending Hall the wrong way.
AFC Blackpool started the second half brightly initially, as Liam Birchall almost equalised with a cross, but it went just past the far post.

The fourth was also scored by Nevitt, and it was easy for South Liverpool at this point.
Joe Robinson did have a free kick for AFC from around 30-yards out, but he couldn’t find the target.
With 10 minutes left to play, the home team were awarded a penalty when Robinson tripped his man in the box, but Dan Hall guessed correctly this time and did well to save the spot kick.

A difficult game for AFC Blackpool, who weren’t at the races on their trip to Merseyside.
