“I’m happy with it but I thought I could have got more,” he said.

“There were some good goals in there.

“In terms of playing at League One level, I found it good.

“I think it was best for me to do that – to stay away, do what I do and enjoy it, so I come back after having a good season, which I’ve had.

Blackpool fans will travel an extra 638 miles supporting the Seasiders up and down the country in League One next season.

The seven-team change to the division has resulted in fewer North West matches, with Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers promoted to the Championship and Oldham Athletic and Bury both relegated to League Two.

A 73-mile round trip to Accrington has been added to the 2018/19 schedule, though the journey to Fylde coast neighbours Fleetwood Town remains the shortest journey over the season.

Visits to Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth remain the two furthest trips at 642 and 565 miles respectively.

In total, Blackpool fans will travel 7,753 miles if attending every league away fixture.
