Sheffield United dominated possession over the 90 minutes but fell behind when Jamie Proctor picked out the run of Josh Morris - the midfielder appearing at the back post and firing home left footed.

Things got even better for Fleetwood, Haughton making a hash of a free kick, failing to beat the wall but not giving up, spotting Ian Turner out of position and launching a speculative drive from the left channel which found a clear path to the net.

Town ended the first half under intense pressure - against which they couldn’t hold out - a succession of corner producing the desired result when Matt Done headed home from close range.

The second half was a siege, the Blades doing all the running, Fleetwood doing all they could to keep them at bay.

Chris Maxwell was called into action when Michael Doyle pulled the trigged six yards out.

Town were forced to defend six added minutes but did so admirably, a frustrated Bramall Lane crowd streaming out as the whistle blew - a memorable win from the ever unpredictable Fleetwood Town.
